Prior to founding Spanish Moss Inc., Alan Moss was the Head of Workstations Products and Services Inc. (WPS). A company that was ahead of its time. WPS was originally funded by a contract with Value Line Inc. to create, maintain, provide weekly updates and assist with marketing, a PC based stock selection subscription product that incorporated the famous Value Line Stock Ranking System.
Prior to starting WPS Inc, Alan was the President of Electronic Publishing for Value Line Inc. As WPS Inc., Alan also provided support to the Environment Defense Fund, the Mexican Mission to the UN, and the State of Michigan House of Representatives. He Provided the Michigan House with an infrastructure, to support intense demographic analysis, that utimately was used for redistricting.
When Spanish Moss Inc. was founded, one of its' earliest projects was a large development effort for Financial Image Solutions Inc. FIS was building from scratch a Wholesale Lockbox Application. Spanish Moss Inc. provided C and C++ coding to drive large Unisys and NCR industrial scanners and sorters, as well as code to perform Hand Writing Recognition and OCR using neural networks.
Spanish Moss Inc. has continued to stay on the forefront of technology, providing assistance with Security and Automation Controls for Honeywell Inc. at many sites around the country,assisting with Security and Automation at Logan Airport in Boston MA, and at Fort Meyers Aitport in Florida. We went on to provide Trading Floor and Market Data Support for Societe Generale, Web Platform Support for Conde Nast and The New York Stock Exchange.
